CONTRIBUTOR – FOOTBALL

As a high school student at Farrington High School Jesse Sapolu was selected to the All-State team as an Offensive Lineman.

He continued as a standout player on the offensive line at The University of Hawai’i from 1979 to 1982 where he lettered all four years.

While at UH Sapolu garnered numerous honors. Among them:

AP All-American Honorable Mention – 1980
AP and UPI All-Coast Honorable Mention – 1980
All WAC-1st Team – 1980
AIl WAC-2nd Team – 1981
All WAC Honorable Mention – 1982
Named to the Rainbow Warrior Club for four consecutive years.

In 1983 Sapolu played in the Hula Bowl and went on to be drafted into the NFL by the San Francisco 49ers. Sapolu was a 49er for 12 years during which time he played on four Super Bowl Championship Teams and two Pro Bowls.
