Selection Committee

The Section Committee is charged with assuring that the new inductee candidates are the finest and most qualified representatives of Sports in Hawaii. Selection Committee members consist of sports media representatives from the State of Hawai’i and are selected based on their love and knowledge of Hawai’i Sports.

Selection Committee members are nominated by the Executive Committee and approved by majority consent of the Commissioners. Selection Committee members are expected to promote the approved inductees and the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame via their specific media outlets prior to induction

Meet multiple times during the year to review nominations and select new inductees

The Selection Committee is charged with maintaining the Induction List – a list of Hawai’i athletes/contributors that may one day qualify for induction to the Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame

Assure new inductees are the finest, most qualified representatives of sports from Hawai’i
