PIONEER – PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL

Jeris White, in his senior year at the University of Hawai’i, made the 1973 All American 1st Team as a defensive back.

That same year he was named to the Sporting News 1st Team and the Times Magazine 1st Team. He also played in the 1973 Senior Bowl.

White played 129 games as a pro in the NFL from 1974 to 1983.

He played for the Miami Dolphins, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Redskins. He played the starting defensive back position in Superbowl XVII in 1983 for the victorious Washington Redskins.

Jeris White was the first player from a Hawai’i High School and from the University of Hawai’i to ever play in a Super Bowl.
