OLYMPIC MEDALIST – SWIMMING

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Allen Stack was an outstanding student-athlete. He was an All-American swimmer at Yale University and a graduate of Columbia University Law School. He made his way to two Olympic Games in 1948 and 1952. He won a gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke in 1948 and finished fourth four years later in 1952. Throughout his career, Stack broke 6 world records in the backstroke and 22 American records.
