Duncan Macdonald
(Born January 15, 1949)
Marathon Runner
Duncan Macdonald won three Honolulu Marathons including the first
one in 1973 when he posted the fastest overall time of 2 hours
and 27 minutes.
He went on to win the 1974 and 1980 Honolulu Marathons as well. In
the 1980 event he completed the 26 mile race in 2 hours and 16
minutes.
Macdonald was also a holder of the American 5,000 meter record and
in 1989 in New York he set an American track record for the mile
run in the Masters Division (40 years +).
He graduated from Kailua High School in 1967 and is currently a
practicing Doctor of Anesthesia.
