On February 15, 2005 at the Honolulu Country Club on the island of
Oahu, the Hawai'i Sports Hall of Fame inducted three new members
into the hall. Joining the ranks of celebrated sports figures
in Hawai'i were Dave Shoji, collegiate volleyball coach; Jack
Sullivan, youth soccer pioneer; and Fiamalu Penitani "Musashimaru",
sumo grand champion. Dr. Larry Price served as Master of Ceremonies
and Governor Linda Lingle presented the honorees with their inductee
awards while several hundred attendees looked on. It was a gala
evening with dinner, entertainment and a video presentation of
each inductee's accomplishments.
